Welcome to the MUHSD 2021 Summer Institute, Virtual Edition
The Merced Union High School District Summer Institute 2021 will take place:
August 2-3 from 9:00AM-3PM on Zoom

To REGISTER for this amazing conference: 
  1. Create a free account in Sched and 
  2. Select your sessions 
Select only the sessions that interest you. Earn up to 10 hours of extra compensation (total) for the two days.

Participants will not be compensated for any time in which they leave a session early.  

Pay for Service Contracts
BEFORE THE EVENT: More info will be coming out in the weeks (by email and here on the event website) before this event on how to complete a digital Pay For Service Contract to be compensated

DUIRNG THE EVENT:  Look in the session’s description online (Log in to Sched) for the session’s feedback form.  Submit the FEEDBACK FORM for every session you attend.  Providing feedback for each session is directly tied to earning compensation for the session. Submitting the form is REQUIRED in order to be paid. While we are collecting names/emails to track attendance, your name/email will not be disclosed to the presenter.

To sum up: Complete a digital Pay For Service Contract and provide feedback at the end of each session attended. Following those steps is how you’ll be compensated for your time at the Summer Institute.

Participants should be logging in for sessions using a fully-charged device (chromebook, laptop) to be prepared for active participation. Cell phone only will not suffice.

SEL in Action - Engagement Strategies for All
Participants will experience fast engagement strategies that can be utilized in all content areas. These will be timely and fun ways to ensure student connection. Participants will leave with a bank of premade engagement tools - SEL and Nurtured Heart Approach will be heavy topics of discussion.

Fostering Growth in Cultural and Linguistic Competence
This workshop is designed to encourage inclusion, respect and cultural  sensitivity between educators and students. We will discuss the interactions of  multiple human identity components; explain the parameters of diversity; increase awareness of cultural barriers,  and promote responsiveness.
